So, someone asked me the other day “Which foods are naughty?”

Weight loss food attitudes

I’ve actually been asked probably several thousand times over the years.

The answer, of course, was “None”.

I’ve never seen a pizza steal the dinner money of a bannna.

Or a gang of doughnuts circling a teary chicken breast calling it names.

I know what the person was asking really.

Which foods should the minimise (or even avoid).

But as we often say, the words we use drive our thoughts which drive our actions.

Weight Loss Food Attitudes

I may be wrong, but from my observations over 16 years in this industry I would say that people who think about foods as being ‘good’ and ‘bad’ weigh more, on average, then those that think of them as just being foods – some of which they’ll have more or less of to help them work towards their goal.

Naughty implies exciting and fun.

Good implies boring and restrictive.

Being naughty can be seen as a more attractive prospect than being good.

When we say “I’m trying to be good” we’re pretty much saying “I’m going to be naughty soon”.

When we say (and think) “I just care about what I put in my body and what that then means it will look and feel like and be able to do”…………

It’s usually a different result. It’s all about weight loss food attitudes.

As always, we’ll never tell you what to do.

If thinking about foods as been good and bad has worked for you (you’re where you’d like to be and maintaining) then crack on.

If not, it might be worth trying on for size a different way of looking at it.

Much love,
