Exciting times – 1 more sleep to Christmas!

I mentioned in a article a few weeks ago what Oli’s current top 3 favourite songs are and how ‘Wonderful Life’ by Black can teach us something.

Today it’s the turn of another of his favourites – top 10 this one.

‘Show Me Heaven’ by Maria McKee.

The youngster out there may not remember this one – or Wonderful Life either.

In-fact Nigel, one of our Macc ninjas, mentioned the other day that he thought he still had an LP of Wonderful Life somewhere J

Here’s a Link-a-saurus for ‘Show Me Heaven’ for those that haven’t heard it – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo_s0iEA41o

Now – I’m not a religious man.

I was bought up going to Church, etc, but stopped believing a long time ago.

Sorry Annie L

Oli goes to a C of E Primary School.

And in our school runs we often have surprisingly deep conversations.

For a 5 year old.

And a Personal Trainer.

He believes all the RE stuff from school.

Which is cool – It’s up to him to decide what he does and doesn’t believe.

I’ll never tell him what he should think.

But he’s aware I don’t believe.

And he tries to convince me otherwise.

When this song comes on, he says “See Daddy – I told you. She’s singing about Heaven”.

He asked me the other day what I thought heaven was.

And I explained that the closest I thought was the lovely days where the 5 of us are together and having a great time and everyone is being nice to each other.

That’s my idea of heaven.

What’s yours?

If you don’t know what truly makes you happy, then it is hard to move yourself to a happier place.

Is it really a slimmer body that makes you happy?

Or is it what you can do with that body?

Or how you feel about it?

Is it eating and drinking load that makes you happy?

Or spending time with people whose company you enjoy?

Take this week to look at what makes you happy.

And what actually makes you less happy long term.

And do more of the former and less of the latter.

##############################################

Tomorrow is the big day – our carrots, mince pies and sherry are laid out ready for the big man.

I’ll email about what Santa can teach us about being happy.

Most will think emailing on Christmas Day is madness and will annoy people.

Because most people only email you trying to sell you stuff.

We like talking to you guys and find most like hearing what we have to say J

Much love,

Jon ‘Won’t be able to sleep tonight’ Hall and Matthew ‘You won’t believe what I’ve got Emma for Christmas’ Nicholson
